Our Safety Policy aligns fully with Western Australia Department of Transport (WA DoT) requirements, and operates in conjunction with Ridyne’s Terms and Conditions to maintain a consistent, compliant framework.
1. Compliance with WA DoT Regulations
All drivers and ODBS operators using the Ridyne platform must comply with WA DoT rules and regulations at all times, including but not limited to:
- Holding a valid and current driver licence appropriate for their vehicle class
- Maintaining valid vehicle registration and insurance
- Ensuring vehicles meet WA DoT safety and inspection standards
- Following all WA road laws and regulations, including speed limits, load restrictions, and vehicle safety requirements
Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of access to the Ridyne platform, in line with our Terms and Conditions.
2. Vehicle Safety Standards
Ridyne requires that all vehicles used for bookings meet the following safety standards:
- Regular servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations
- Functioning seatbelts for all passengers
- Operational safety features (airbags, brakes, tyres, lights, etc.)
- Clean and safe interior and exterior conditions suitable for professional passenger transport
3. Driver Safety Responsibilities
Drivers must:
- Never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substances that impair driving
- Maintain a professional standard of conduct while transporting riders
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle defects promptly through the Ridyne platform
- Follow route, passenger, and vehicle safety guidance provided within the app
4. Rider Responsibilities
Riders must:
- Wear seatbelts at all times
- Respect driver instructions regarding safety and vehicle operation
- Avoid distracting the driver or interfering with safe operation
- Report any safety concerns immediately via the Ridyne app
5. Incident Reporting
Any safety incidents, accidents, or near misses must be reported immediately through the Ridyne app. Ridyne may:
- Temporarily suspend involved parties pending investigation
- Work with WA DoT and relevant authorities to ensure compliance and resolution
- Maintain records of all incidents for safety audits and continuous improvement
6. ODBS Operator Obligations
ODBS operators must:
- Ensure all drivers in their network comply with WA DoT requirements
- Regularly audit vehicles and driver licences
- Facilitate reporting of safety concerns through Ridyne’s platform
7. Continuous Improvement
Ridyne regularly reviews safety practices and updates this policy to remain aligned with WA DoT regulations and industry best practices. Any updates will be communicated to all users through the app and website.
